Richard R. Gleissner began the practice of law in 1990 when he received his Juris Doctor Degree, with honors, from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He received the Carolina Legal Scholarship in recognition of his academic performance prior to applying to law school. In law school, he was research editor for the South Carolina Law Review which included being responsible for the ten year index of the Law Review's publications. During law school he was a member and treasurer of Phi Alpha Delta and was awarded membership in both the Order of the Wig and Robe and the Order of the Coif. Upon graduation, he clerked for the Honorable C. Tolbert Goolsby, Jr. of the South Carolina Court of Appeals. He began practicing with the Finkel Firm in 1991 and became certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court in the area of Bankruptcy and Debtor-Creditor Law in 1998. He has jury trial experience in both the United States District Court for the State of South Carolina and the state courts of South Carolina. He practices in all areas of commercial litigation including products liability, construction litigation, lender liability, negligence, warranties and bankruptcy. He is admitted to the bar of South Carolina and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
