Associate Attorney

Ms. Muthig is an attorney in the firm’s Columbia office. Her practice is focused on real estate transactions. Kathleen represents buyers and sellers in both residential and commercial real estate closings.

Ms. Muthig also represents banks, servicers, and other creditors in bankruptcy court. As managing attorney of the firm's bankruptcy department, Kathleen’s practice is primarily focused on representing creditors, including banks, servicers, and businesses, navigate the bankruptcy process. She handles both consumer and commercial bankruptcies and has experience in Chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13 cases. In 2017, Ms. Muthig was appointed by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of South Carolina to serve as chairman of the Local Rules Committee. Kathleen has also previously served on the Court’s Chapter 13 Interest Rate Committee.

Outside of the office, Kathleen enjoys spending time with her husband and son, volunteering with the Junior League of Columbia, and serving on the Palmetto Health Cancer Centers Board.
